Finalized Fight Card

Final Fight Card announced For West Coast Fighting Championship’s inaugural show at the El Dorado Fairgrounds in Placerville, California.

In what is sure to be one of the best cards in Northern California in 2012, West Coast Fighting Championship is bringing its brand of exclusive MMA action to the cage on January 7th. Featuring former and future champions this card is surefire action.

In the Main Event of the evening, Jaime “El Cucui” Jara will take on Max “Pain” Griffin for the West Coast Fighting Championship Welterweight Belt. Jara, a seasoned veteran and the only man ever to hold titles in 4 different weight classes will face the upstart Griffin, who brings an undefeated Pro record and an amateur record that saw him finish over 90% of his fights by KO in the first round. This will be a battle to see if the new guard will take over or the veteran will show why he is still on top.

The Co- Main event of the evening will be former Strikeforce and Elite XC fighter Anthony “A-Train” Ruiz vs. Northwest Warrior Jared Torgeson for the WCFC Light Heavyweight Title. Ruiz, a longtime fighter with over 40 professional bouts in promotions such as Strikeforce, EliteXC, and Tachi Palace Fights, he will stand across the cage from Torgeson, an Ephrata, Washington native representing the Irish Hit Squad. Torgeson, a veteran in his own right with 17 professional bouts brings a fighters spirit to this bout which will see both fighters trade blows in the center of the cage with the last one standing becoming the Light Heavyweight Champion.

In a “Winner Take All” match, Michael Christensen will take on Darin Cooley in a surefire fight of the night candidate. Christensen, an AKA and Team Carnage fighter, will face off against Cesar Gracie team representative Cooley. These two fighters have fought on the same card before and have been on a collision course for some time. When Christensen proposed the “Winner take all” bout it didn’t take Cooley any time at all to sign on the dotted line. On January 7th there will be no more words from either side, only action as they step in the cage to see who will go home with everything and who will go home with nothing.

In lightweight action, Team Alpha Male fighter Derrick Burnsed will face off against “The Hangtown Kid”, Nolan Sules. Two of Northern California’s brightest talents, they are ready to face off to see which will take a step closer to championship status. Sacramento’s own, Derrick Burnsed will head up the road to face off against Placerville native Sules, who will be fighting in his own backyard. Both fighters have finished all their victories by KO,TKO, or submission so it will be a war of wills to see who gets their hand raised in this exciting bout.
